in iOS4

Apple has released iOS 4.3.4 which resolves the security vulnerability with viewing malicious PDF files. As always, this is a hefty 666mb update. What on earth do Apple have in these updates?!

Make sure you transfer any purchases backup up your iPhone before installing any updates

Backing up is sound advice. Not downloading and installing the update at all is even better advice.

My phone simply hung about halfway through installing the update, leaving me having to restore the blasted thing — thank goodness for transferring purchases and keeping the phone backed up, huh?

The latest update, seemingly, was put out there to deter those folks who have jailbroken their phones. I never went the “jailbreak” route, so it does seem counterproductive to punish those of us who have played by the rules.
