Will Apple be releasing iOS 4.3.3 soon? Apple recently published a Q&A session on it’s website on the location tracking database that is stored on iPhone and 3G iPads running iOS 4 or higher.
Not only that, the data is also stored in iTunes, maintains a long history of data in this database and continues to log even though Location Services has been turned off.
iOS 4.3.3 is expected to be delivered within the next 2 weeks which will fix the ‘bugs’ around this Tracking Service. This includes:
- Removing the location services cache off the phone when Location Services is turned off.
- Reduce the amount of data stored in the cache
- Stop backing up this cache to iTunes
Not only that, with the next major release of iOS an encryption layer will also be added.
