With the new iOS4 operating system for the iPhone comes a number of cool tips to keep you productive!  Here are the 5 we like

Use the Character Count in Text Messaging – Turn this feature on under Settings and Messages and you will now be able to see your character count when you type your text message.  Note you have to type 2 lines of text before this will appear.

Search Wikipedia and Google – flick to the right of your Home Screen, and type in your search keywords.  Down the bottom of the results you can also search Wikipedia and Google.

You now have choice in your Search Engine! –  By default the Search Engine has been Google, but now if you go into Settings, Safari and Search Engine you have a choice of Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Read your PDFs in iBooks – If you want to save your PDFs to your iBooks shelf, then just tap and hold your PDF in the e-mail attachment (or web page) and select ‘Open in iBooks’.

Need new glasses or a bigger font? – You can now increase the size of the font for text messages and notes.  Hop into Settings, General, Accessibility and select Large Text.

Camera Zoom and Focus – By tapping the screen when in Camera you can bring up the zoom feature and when you tap where you want to focus, the iPhone will adjust the exposure automatically.

I’m disappointed that the multi tasking features of iOS4 are not available on the iPhone 3G. I guess it’s time to look at an upgrade!
